Do you want to know how well your Facebook and Instagram profiles are performing and what you need to do to rank in the top 10%? Take the test!

The Performance Test uses seven key metrics to calculate how influential a Facebook or Instagram profile is compared to millions of other profiles worldwide. It shows strengths and weaknesses, identifies benchmarks, and gives clear recommendations on how to achieve them.

Determine performance

The Performance Score is a value between 0 and 100 %. It is calculated as the average of seven key figures.

The values that the analyzed profile achieves for each metric are compared with the values of millions of other profiles worldwide. For a proper comparison, they are normalized to the number of followers of the analyzed profile. This means that a profile with 100 thousand followers, for example, won’t be compared to profiles that have less than 20 thousand followers.

To achieve a Performance Score of 100%, a profile must reach the top 10% value for each metric.

These metrics make up the score:

  1. Growth: How many followers were generated?
  2. Posts: How many posts were published?
  3. Interactions: How strongly did people respond to the posts?
  4. Reach: How many people did the profile reach through all measures?
  5. Interaction rate: How many interactions were achieved per person reached?
  6. Click-through rate: How many people came to a web page through the profile?
  7. Page views: How many times did people view the profile page?

Combining the metrics gives a complete picture of all areas that are important in social media management. If a profile manages to score above average in all areas, this is a clear success.

Setting goals

The goal is, to achieve the highest possible Performance Score. You can only achieve this if all key figures perform above average. In the charts, the average values are indicated by a gray dashed line. The blue values above the charts indicate the value that must be achieved in order to be among the top 10%.

Let’s take the following Instagram profile as an example:

In terms of growth, reach, and profile views, the profile is already in the top range. It has clearly exceeded the top 10% value in each case.

The greatest potential lies in generating more comments and increasing the interaction rate. Currently, the profile receives only 3 comment per day, the average is 6 comments. To be among the best, however, 12 comments are necessary.

Realizing Potential

In order to increase the performance of a profile, it is necessary to raise each individual key figure into the top range through targeted measures. To improve the profile’s weak points, the Performance Score provides clear instructions for action. All recommendations are directly practicable and can be implemented immediately.
